Host groups

The host groups maintenance page allows reviewing all host group maintenances configured in Zabbix and initiating maintenance through Prisma.

Here all host groups and their maintenances are displayed in a hierarchy list:

The count next to the host group name includes the amount of maintenances within any descendant host group as well
The count next to the host group name includes the amount of maintenances within any descendant host group as well
The count next to the host group name includes the amount of maintenances within any descendant host group as well

For each host group the number of configured maintenances and the current maintenance status are shown. Whether a host group is in maintenance is indicated by the description above the host group name as well as the color of the text and icon:

  • Green: No maintenance is currently active.
  • Yellow: In maintenance with data collection.
  • Red: In maintenance without data collection.

Host groups are displayed in a hierarchy list. When a host group name contains the name of another host group followed by a slash (/), it is placed under that host group:

The indentation represents the hierarchy of host groups and descendants are prefixed with their parent host group name(s)

Host group configuration

To open the host group maintenance configuration, click the maintenance button of the host group. The configuration shows the host group name and whether it is currently in maintenance. Depending on the maintenance state, other options differ.

Host groups not in maintenance

For host groups that are not currently in maintenance, the configuration to start a maintenance includes the following settings:

This maintenance will start without affecting host groups downstream in the hierarchy
This maintenance will start without affecting host groups downstream in the hierarchy
This maintenance will start without affecting host groups downstream in the hierarchy
  • With data collection: Specifies whether the maintenance starts with or without data collection.
  • Apply to subgroups: If enabled, all host groups that are descendants in the hierarchy will also be put into maintenance. Data collection settings are applied to those host groups as well.
The maintenance time is intended to be unlimited, but since this is not possible in Zabbix, it is set to 10 years.

Host groups already in maintenance

Any maintenances created by Prisma can be stopped by clicking the configuration button. Selecting Apply to subgroups also ends maintenances of any sub host groups.

The maintenance that is currently active was automatically prefixed with ‘prisma_’. The maintenance can be stopped independent of child host groups.

Host groups filter

Host groups can be filtered by their status using the filter at the top of the page:
