Audit log

The audit log provides a comprehensive record of all events within the DataForge application.

The audit log page displays a chronological list of documented events in DataForge, including the following details for each entry:

  • Date: Date and time when the event was triggered.
  • Actor: Actor associated with the event.
  • Action: Description of the action or event.

Filtering audit logs

The audit log page provides search and filtering capabilities.

Company filter

Filters for a specific company scope from which events are displayed.

  • All companies: Events of the current company and all sub-companies.
  • Only sub-companies: Events of sub-companies only.
  • Only my company: Events of the managers company only.
  • Select company: Specific company from the collection of the current company and its sub-companies. Extends the filter with an additional company selection.

Action type filter

Filters for a specific action type. Only events of the selected type are displayed.

Resource type filter

Filters for a specific resource type. Only events of the selected type are displayed.

Audit log general filter options
  • Show system events: Toggle visibility of system events.
  • Impersonated: Toggle visibility of events by an impersonated actor.
  • From and To: Specific time period of when events occurred.

Click Filter to apply the settings or Reset Filters to clear them.

Viewing audit log details

Click an entry in the audit log to view further details. The details page provides comprehensive information about a particular event, for a deeper understanding of each entry:

Audit log details: Changes
  • Time: Timestamp when the event occurred.
  • Actor: Insights about the acting user in the event. May include both the original actor (in blue) and any impersonated actor.
  • Action: Description of the specific action or operation.
  • Resource: Resource or object on which the action was performed.
  • Changes: Detailed description of changes. Classified data is censored.
